My name is Cynthia PhươngAnh Lê — I’m a queer, second-generation Vietnamese archivist, cultural worker, and chef from San José, California.
Sea2Sea is an ongoing and evolving project preserving Vietnamese foodways and diasporic cultural memory through gathering, sound, and shared ritual. Rooted in the Bay Area and shaped by time spent in Việt Nam, this practice reflects my desire to remain in relationship with ancestral knowledge while navigating life in diaspora.
Inspired by remembrance, migration, and the ways culture travels and transforms across generations, Sea2Sea creates spaces for communal nourishment, listening, and exchange. Recipes and practices passed down through family elders are honored through cooking, radio, and collaborative cultural work.
Through pop-ups, broadcasts, and partnerships with artists, growers, and community organizers, Sea2Sea continues to grow as a living archive of memory, place, and belonging.
